Spring Break is really over-rated. At least it is in this house. And in terms of being a time where we jet away to somewhere dreamy, not happening. (Although, we do live in the number 3 place to live in the country, Fort Collins, but actually all of Northern Colorado in our opinion!) My poor boys got to spend their spring break dealing with a sick mommy and a daddy away in Alaska. Super fun for them! (sarcasm emphasized) They asked why we didn’t go on a trip but they didn’t realize they went on plenty of trips and had all kinds of excitement! Like doctor visits, and grocery stores and, well, you get the point. What they also don’t realize is that while they hate going to Walmart and sitting in the Starbucks drive-thru knowing it’s probably just for mommy, it’s so not over-rated to take a break and slow down a bit. We don’t have to wake up to an alarm. We don’t have to scramble to make lunches. No homework to rush to finish. No uniforms to be laundered. No driving, at least the school driving anyway. It’s GLORIOUS. For a week we slow down, forget about the schedule and just be. And this morning it all started again…the craziness of school life. But the uniforms were clean (even though they were in a ball at the bottom of the laundry basket) and I was happy to make lunches, and in general just ready to go. It is only Monday, though, and I’m sure we’ll oversleep tomorrow and be ready for a break….again.
Here’s a little peek at the most precious little man from a newborn session a couple weeks ago. Love the snuggle time with these itty bittys! I got a little break from work too over spring break…but it’s back to the computer I go, break over!!
