Well hello! I wanted to take a minute and reflect on 2019 and what a great year it’s been doing all things related in the Northern Colorado Newborn and Family Photography world!

Fort Collins Baby Photo

Every year continues to grow and 2019 was no exception! The year was spent serving more than 200 families, meeting goals, expanding the LyndseyLew business (more of that big announcement to come) and finding a new chic studio space in Windsor, just to name a few!

When I reflect on 2019, I of course remember all of the squishy Northern Colorado newborn cheeks, giggling (but not all the time!) one-year-olds at their cake-smash sessions, the sweet girls enjoying their glitter sessions, moms-to-be relishing in the beauty of their growing bellies, and families trying to capture precious moments together. Elaine asked me if I could choose an all-around favorite image from 2019. I had to really think about which 1 image that is….and it was so hard! But when I narrowed it down, the winner was obvious! I LOVED this one of Grandma with her grandson. So real and raw and so special.

I will forever treasure this one as a piece of art for such a loving family.

The quintessential newborn photo usually has a single focus — the baby. This makes sense in the moment because the baby is new and has become the focus of the parents’ world. However, the importance of capturing the relationship between the baby and the parents, the role of siblings, the love of grandparents, and the reminder that time goes by so quickly is so important.

It’s Always fun To include Grandparents!

I always try to encourage my clients to include family members (especially grandparents) in newborn sessions. It can give such a greater perspective on life and family. This is why I love what I get to do! When we as photographers are able to capture generations together, particularly at such a special time, it is extremely precious. These images are captivating, and moving in a way that few other portraits are.

I take pride in creating high-quality professional portraits of newborns. In 2020 one of my big goals is to combine my experience here with my passion for teaching and coaching! I’ll be expanding what I do to have a new focus on equipping other photographers with the tools they need to become successful creative artists, and business people. Keep an eye out for more details! Here is a look at all the babies I saw in 2019! It’s always so fun to see them together and for you to see the images I love!
