If you didn’t know, I have been ‘LyndseyLew’ for almost 7 years here in the Fort Collins area. It’s been a slow process, while homeschooling my kids in the early years, having more babies, and just struggling along to learn business and photography and all that. (even tho this post is more personal I thought I’d throw in some images of a baby girl I love. she is a doll. thankful for this family)
I’m a perfectionist.
If you know me well that is not a surprise. I am constantly trying to figure out how to do things better…better technically, better creatively, color isn’t quite right, that hand looks weird, well I won’t do that next time, etc. I still feel like, after 7 years, I can always improve. I never want to stop learning. Ever.
One of the things that has helped me and my growth is attending workshops. I’ve been to several, but really what has made the difference is one-on-one mentoring. I think a big group of like-minded people all together for a few days is really great but when it’s just you and one other person the intricate, commonly over-looked, details are accomplished and drawn out.
Along with this mentoring came a private group of other women who’ve also attended and now are connected. I am not a naturally out-going person, and I’m not great in a group of people I am unfamiliar with.
But…
Even with my timidness and wanting to not look stupid, I have grown to really enjoy this group and have learned so much from them. This industry can be very lonely, in my opinion. So competitive, so…hmmm, we’ll just leave it there. It’s just nice to know I have a place. I am inspired and pushed to be better every day. And for that I am really grateful.
